Trade Profiles with Greeks

Written on March 24, 2008 by OptionsRopeaDope

Thought I’d post up some other open trades like the last one… also have a new Double Diag open. To give a little more clarity I’ll quote the greeks as if there were 10 contracts per leg.

QQQQ Iron Condor - 36/37 Puts, 48/49 Calls

I opened this trade in the first week of March, and the Put side was quickly heading bad, but never got in real trouble. Yesterday I had a 6% profit on this spread but gave it all back today with the spurt up, and I am even. Currently, the put short has a delta of -3, and the 48 call has a delta of 12, so very safe. I’m not worried about this trade and expect a good outcome.

Delta -47
Gamma -35
Theta -8
Vega -15

SPY Iron Condor - 111/113 Puts, 147/147 Calls

To diversify a bit, put on at the same time as the others. This one has been safe from the start. The short put has a delta of 2.5, and the short call is at 7. Both the SPY trades are profitable, even the Double Diag, which I put on today.

Delta -32
Gamma -27
Theta -25
Vega -20

New SPY Double Diag - 126 May/129 Apr Puts, 141 Apr/144 May Calls

A small trade to diversify my vegas, to give a little more yield, and to practice some Double Diag jiu-jitsu.

Delta 20
Gamma -34
Theta -33
Vega 100
