Close - MSFT Calendar

Written on May 30, 2008 by OptionsRopeaDope

This one was coming… closed on Wednesday for a loss of 25% exactly (.33 credit vs .44 debit.) Could have been worse! Mistakes I made on this trade…

  • Did not “scout out” my future adjustments, and when I needed to I saw a discrepency in strikes available month to month that made me feel uneasy (see my last post about MSFT).
  • Stock price was too low… seems like anything under 50 (or 80 for that matter) just doesn’t have the flexibility required.

If I did something right, it was to make only a tiny commitment to this trade - at the end of the day, this loss will only affect my returns this month by 1% or less. Also spotted my error pretty quickly, for what its worth. Whew!
