Book Review - Trade your way to Financial Freedom

Written on July 23, 2008 by OptionsRopeaDope

If you are trading your own account, you need to approach it with all the diligence and planning as you would a business. This book by far is the best one I’ve ever read that walks you through doing just that.

Trade Your Way to Financial FreedomI was turned to this book by the rave reviews by Trader Mike of Van Tharp and this book, and it lives up the hype. Van Tharp walks you through how choose a strategy, how to know if it is going to be profitable (not as straightforward as you might think), the importance of sticking to your rules, and more. He also goes deep into topics that will make whatever you trade now even more profitable through studies of position sizing, expectancy, and much more, explaining the whole way why key principles work.

It may sound like the book is full of boring formulas and disertation, but that is not the case at all. It is easy to read and is fantastic at explaining in plain english some heady yet essential principles that apply to winning at trading. No matter what your trading style is, I’d recommend this book. It will help you to clearly analyze your trading aproach and make you think seriously about flaws in your trading execution.
